Never give up on someone with mental illness. When “I” is replaced with “we” illness becomes wellness.
Mental Health is a huge subject at present and something that is close to my heart. I’ve never suffered with mental health issues personally but I’ve seen first-hand the devastating effects that mental health issues can have on a person and family. This is the reason I so am passionate about it and encourage anyone to speak and seek help.
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. You may not suffer yourself but may have a loved one who does, a close friend or colleague.
As well as encouraging people to speak to others or seek help I’m also encouraging others to share their journey with others about how they feel. issues they have come up against, their experiences and how they have and cope with mental illness. Sharing journeys will show others that they aren’t alone, they don’t have to suffer in silence and help is available.
Over the coming weeks and months, I will be adding real journeys from real people. Also, adding help and tips from businesses and much more.
If anyone would like to share their journey on here then I am more than happy to share them. Mental Health has a many different aspects, depression, anxiety and bipolar to name but a few. If we can get as many stories told and heard then we can end the stigma around mental health and show people that it is okay to not be okay.
If you would like to discuss anything or share your journey then please contact me to discuss this further.
